Tambre (BL), February 28, 2026 – The 43rd edition of Transcavallo came to an end today under perfect weather conditions. This classic ski mountaineering race attracted several international-level athletes to compete in the Belluno Dolomites of the Alpago area. The course followed a true “Grande Course” style.
The second and final stage took place in ideal conditions: spring-like temperatures and a perfectly prepared course allowed athletes to perform in an environment where mountaineering skills prevailed over pure athletic ability. The route, starting and finishing at Col Indes just a few kilometers from Tambre, covered more than 22 kilometers with approximately 2,500 meters of positive elevation gain.
The course featured some of the most technical and demanding sections beneath Monte Guslon, including exposed ridges, the summit of Monte Cornor, and the ascent of the legendary Canalino delle Placche, where gradients exceeded 50 degrees.
