Big News for an Even More Spectacular Circuit
La Grande Course, the prestigious ski mountaineering circuit that brings together the most iconic races of the Alpine Arc and the Pyrenean range, is set to relaunch with major innovations – from calendar changes to new formats, along with a strategic addition to its leadership team in preparation for new and greater challenges ahead.
NEW RACES, NEW FORMAT, NEW AMBITIONS:
In the heart of the trail running season, Marco Camandona & Co are already preparing for next winter:
“We don’t like to sit still,” said the President of La Grande Course. “In a year where our sport will make its Olympic debut, we decided to give the circuit a bold push: a new format and new races to broaden our horizons and elevate high-potential events.”
Camandona elaborated:
“We’ll shift from a biennial to an annual format to make it easier for athletes to follow the LGC challenge. Most of the major events are confirmed: Pierra Menta, Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême, Trofeo Mezzalama, Altitoy, and Adamello Ski Raid. In addition, we’re bringing in top-level new entries that align with our philosophy and aim to promote traditional ski mountaineering, reinterpreted and communicated in a modern way. Our goal is to grow, become even more international, and fully represent the sport we love.”
“I’d also like to thank and acknowledge the Patrouille des Glaciers for its invaluable collaboration over the years. This legendary Swiss race remains one of the cornerstones of our sport, though its format and rules differ from the international standards followed by LGC.”
ROBERTO CAVALLO APPOINTED NEW CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) OF LA GRANDE COURSE:
“To pursue our new and ambitious goals, we needed to strengthen our leadership with an experienced manager – someone from the sports world who understands our community and dynamics,” added Camandona. “I’m confident Roberto is the right fit. His background, passion, and professionalism will be key to reaching new milestones. Once he agreed to join, we moved quickly to bring him on board.”
NEW GOALS ALREADY IN THE WORKS:
“We’re designing a new logo to reflect the circuit’s fresh direction, along with a merchandise line that will unite and represent our community,” Camandona concluded. “We’re also developing a brand-new website: more modern, dynamic, and efficient.
And last but not least: we’re considering selecting a group of athletes to represent the loyal La Grande Course community. Athletes have always been at the heart of what we do, and their feedback is vital for our growth.”
